The TED app provides excellent access to the TED Talk Library and is a great way to discover talks on a variety of topics by a variety of speakers. This app provides great access to a wealth of free content, but opportunities for deeper sharing or participation are limited. It seems convenient to download videos for offline viewing until an hour of content consumes 1GB of device storage space.
