VSBRO - Social network to share photos

Adverts

VSBRO is a social network where users can share photos, add friends and like other users' posts by adding punch cards. There's no built-in way to take or edit photos, and there's no way to edit or comment on posts.

Users can link their account with Instagram to get verification status. In general, the app is aimed at both men and women who have joined, and the platform is generally unpopular.

What about VSBRO features?

With so few features, there aren't many places to recommend this social network, and its general atmosphere of childish misbehavior makes it even less appealing. Some posts were very kind and users shared photos of friends they lost during the coronavirus quarantine.

But there are more despicable behaviors, where users share racist, sexist and homophobic words and images, and even request fists to intimidate other users on the platform. There are no community guidelines, privacy policies or terms of use. While you can report posts, it's unclear what impact this will have.

The developers did one thing right: this platform is not like VSCO.

It doesn't have as many features as the photo sharing and editing app, and it doesn't work well. VSBRO is more like other social media apps, they quickly became popular due to their abilities.

important considerations

VSBRO is a free social network developed by a group of college students as a space for male users – especially a place where “bros” post “bro” content. The social network's name is a reference to the photo-sharing app VSCO, although VSBRO developers have repeatedly pointed out that their platform has no connection to this app. Users can create personal profiles and upload photos from their devices and can “punch” other users' posts.

Users can add friends (called “siblings” here, of course) and get “verified” status by linking to their VSBRO Instagram account. Many posts are gentle photos of (mostly white) men and boys, but other posts are much more toxic, including bullying other users and using racist, sexist, and homophobic language. Note: Although there is a link to the privacy policy in the app store, the page is blank. Additionally, there is no privacy setting and all posts are public by default. Not recommended for children.
