Kindle - An app for those who like to read

With more e-books published annually than traditional paper books, it's no wonder that e-readers, like the Amazon Kindle, are skyrocketing in popularity.

Despite the small and compact size of E-Readers, they are not always as portable or convenient to use as your Android-based smartphone. Enter the Amazon Kindle app for Android-based phones.

Overview

The Amazon Kindle app is available for free download on Google Play. Press the search button , type “Kindle” and install the application. Once installed, you will be able to connect the app to your Amazon account. Once connected, the Kindle app will sync with your Kindle library and allow you to download any books you have purchased. Don't have an Amazon account or a Kindle? No problem. The Android app will allow you to set up an Amazon account and can serve as your Kindle reader.

When you launch the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your Amazon Kindle account information or create a new account. Once synced, you will be able to download any saved Kindle books from the Amazon subscription page or start browsing books for purchase. Press the button Menu and select Kindle Store to browse all titles.

highlights and updates

The Kindle app for Android lets you read Kindle books, customize font size, add page-turn animation, and add or delete bookmarks. Most importantly, the app introduced the Whispersync . Whispersync allows you to sync between the app and the reader. You can start reading a book on your Kindle and pick up right where you left off on your Android phone, or start reading on your Android phone where you left off on your device.

Home screen

When you open the app, you will see the home screen where you can scroll through your downloaded books. The bottom of the screen shows recommendations based on your download history. And the top of the screen shows 2 buttons, one menu to the left and to Kindle Store on the right.

settings

You can access settings from the home screen menu.

From here you can:

Store

You can click on shopping cart icon in the upper-right corner of the Home screen to search for a book in the Kindle Store.

If you want to browse, click the menu in the top left corner of the Kindle Store for a list of popular categories, daily deals, and more!

Below the details of each book, it will indicate whether the publisher allows book loans. If so, click the button borrow this book , which will take you to a small form to fill out. Enter the email address of the person you want to lend the book to, enter your information and a personal message, and press Send now.

reading menu

Tap the screen when reading a book and you will see 3 horizontal lines on the left side of the screen. This is a menu that will help you with the information in the book.

You can get a quick synopsis of the book, as well as read reviews, by tapping “ about this book “ . You can also skip to the “ Index “ or search the text of the book for certain words. This is a big advantage of having an electronic book instead of a paper book!

What do we think?

Look, if you are a regular reader and have an amazon kindle at home, this application will help you a lot because it synchronizes your reading and, above all, keeps page information and settings exactly the same for all devices.

However, if you don't have a kindle it might be a little disappointing. It is great and for those who like to buy ebooks from amazon it can be great but the cell phone screen forces the view and will tire you easily.

But if you want to try unlimited or get to know the prime books, it's a great pick.
